faq about tubular chain conveyors

The tubular chain conveyor is a fully enclosed conveying system, comprising a tubular casing that houses circular discs attached to a chain which conveys the material. The system operation is totally dust-free.

Our Link Chain Design acts as a universal joint during product transportation in the pipe which enables a single conveyor to achieve directional changes in multiple planes, including 90 degree turn.

A unique feature of the our tubular chain conveyor is the “chain tension station”, which continuously tensions the entire chain length in the product conveying path, while maintaining zero tension in the return path. This will help minimize wear and tear of the conveying discs, chain and pipe..

This system is available in 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” & 12” diameter. Available in Carbon Steel Construction, Stainless Steel Construction, and cleaning systems for food & pharmaceutical applications.

Our tubular chain conveyors are designed to transport different kinds of materials: from construction materials, corrosive or abrasive products, to food and other fragile materials.

successful stories with tubular chain conveyor

Successful Stories : At present, the tubular chain conveying system has been successfully used in powder/granular material conveying, such as TPA & IPA. Successfully applied in TPA in horizontal-typed tubular chain conveying system and vertical-typed tubular chain conveying system. The project capacity can go up to to 85 tons per hour (w/ 12″ discs). The environmental protection industry has successfully used the tubular chain conveyor to convey the fly ash, and another successful application case of Apidic acid powder. So far, we have been dedicated the continuous efforts and non-stop innovation on the development for more new material option to use tubular chain conveyor. Bring this system to for more users that need to convey bulk materials, such as PET flake (PET flake) that is constantly mentioned in the recycling economy. As well as we conduct more and more tests to get the real data and test parameters like the materials such as PVC & PVA used by less customers in the plastic industry.

It all depends on the size of the conveyor. We have several models that use different motors, pipe sizes, parts and building materials. We invite you to take a look at our brochure for more information. However, generally speaking, we can convey around 2600 ft3 per hour.

A single tubular chain conveyor can be as long as 250 ft and as tall as 100 ft. To cover longer distances, we design conveying systems that combine two or more tubular chain conveyors.

There is no limit to the number of inlets or outlets our conveying systems can have.

Yes, conveyor discs can be made of various materials depending on the need, including steel, aluminum, cast iron, polyurethane, etc. However, unless precluded by special circumstances such as high temperature, we generally recommend and supply UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) discs. UHMW is an engineered material that is abrasion and impact resistant. It is light weight and has a very low coefficient of friction, so it keeps low the energy required to pull it through the conveyor circuit minimizing the wear to bends and pipes. Additionally, conveyed materials are least likely to stick to it.

Tubular chain conveyors are used in facilities handling powders, granulates, pre-mixed products, wastes, wet bulk solids, sticky materials or abrasive chemicals, minerals and hot materials such as ash. Explosion resistant and ATEX versions are also available. Quite often, they have been found capable of handling materials other systems can’t manage and have been the only solution possible.

They are highly versatile in terms of design and can convey around bends, in any plane, underfloor, in tight spaces or at height – as demonstrated here. This makes them the preferred choice when the conveying route is complex. Some other tube conveyors can only have one single outlet or, in order to have more, the design required is complex and costly.

Tubular Chain Conveyors can be configured to have as many inlets or outlets as required.
